The Little Sisters of the Poor |
The Little Sisters of the Poor will visit us next weekend, 13
– 14 March, to speak about their work with the elderly and poor
of Brussels. We always look forward to welcoming Sister Gemma and
the Sisters from the home in Rue Haute, Brussels. |
Family Lenten Reconciliation Service |
March 10 at 7:00pm in the Church. Father Raphael
along with another Priest from the American College will be here
to celebrate this Service. At this time we will be honouring our
children in the First Reconciliation program. Confirmation Students
– also plan on attending to celebrate the Sacrament of Penance prior
to reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation. |

PARISH SERVICE DAY |
A very worthwhile and humbling Lenten service. On Saturday, 20
March, we will be going to The Little Sisters of the Poor for our
Parish’ Service Day. Sister Gemma spoke very highly of our young
adults & adults who gave of their Saturday to help out in the
home last year. If you would like to give a few hours of your time
to this project, please be at the Parish Centre/Rectory, Ave. Reine
Astrid 64 in Waterloo at 9:30am for car pooling. Call the Rectory

Holy Week |
Fr. William (Bill) Graf from the Diocese of Rochester NY, will
be the visiting Priest in residence for all of Holy Week, and preside
at all of our Holy Week Liturgies. Fr. Bill is currently Chairperson
of the Religious Studies Department and holder of the William and
Helen Cavanaugh Chair of Catholic Studies at Saint John Fisher College
in Rochester, New York. He has broad-based pastoral experience,
has a warm and engaging personality and has been in Louvain a few
times for conferences. It will be a real treat to have him with
us here at Our Lady of Mercy. Fr. Bill is also a very good personal
friend of Jack Dick our DRE. |

This Easter Break over 45 Youth & Volunteer Leaders from
the Waterloo/Brussels area, including students from OLM, will be
heading out to Romania to give a week of their lives to serve. |
