60th Diamond Anniversary Celebration

With more than 70 choirs across the UK and overseas, the Military Wives Choirs is a charity that brings over 2300 women in the military community closer together through singing.
Families of service personnel move around frequently and it can often be tough to put down roots or make new friends, which can leave women feeling isolated, particularly when loved ones are away for long periods of time. Research shows that singing in a choir alleviates stress and contributes to an improvement in isolation, anxiety and depression. That’s why the Military Wives Choirs are so important.
Belgium MWC was formed in 2014 and is one of the largest choirs in the network. They sing a wide range of songs, both traditional and modern, which are especially arranged for three voices. Some of the choir’s repertoire you will hear is unique to the Military Wives Choirs network.
Today, you will be hearing from the Belgium Military Wives Choir, including women whose loved ones serve in the British forces, as well as veterans and current serving members and international wives whose partners work for the US military or those of other countries. The experiences and friendships the choirs’ members have had are memories that will last a lifetime.
